Rodeo and Demo Derby return to Great Northern Fair

Later this week, the Great Northern Fair will make its return to the Hi-Line. As locals and others from across the state of Montana head to the fair to have a good time, there will be numerous events that they can watch and enjoy throughout the week.

Starting Wednesday, the Jr. Rodeo will take place starting at 3 p.m. Over the course of the night, some of the best young riders from the Hi-Line and the rest of the state will compete in rodeo events from sheep and steer riding to goat tying and barrels.

Then Thursday at 7 p.m., the Great Northern Ram Rodeo will take place. Riders from the Northern Rodeo Association will compete in events from roughstock riding to the barrels as they try to move up the NRA standings.

On Friday starting at 7 p.m., the Great Northern Ram Rodeo will continue as riders will look to finish strong to win their events.

During the weekend, there will be several events that fair goers can attend.

On Saturday, the tractor pull will take place. The locals and semis will start at 2 p.m. while the night show will begin at 7 p.m.

The Great Northern Fair will wrap up Sunday with the Havre Jaycees Demo Derby. Starting at 5 p.m., fair goers will get to be up close and personal to see the destruction as these vehicles crash into one another.

The return of the Great Northern Fair indicates that summer is nearing its end.

Before school and other fall activities return, the Great Northern Fair is a sure way to make the most out of the end of the summer with all these grandstand arena events and more.
