From Tee to Green
Tournament season has come to local golf, and for mer personally, it always starts with an event nearest and dearest to my heart.
Saturday at Prairie Farms Golf Course, the annual Golfing for a Cure Tournament will be held. And having participated in it for many years, trust me, a great time will be had by all. But, this tournament is about so much more than a Scramble, or social fun. Golfing for a Cure is about raising money and awareness for that word we all hate: Cancer. Cancer touches everybody and an event like Golfing for a Cure is a way to fight back. I have been so proud over the years to have played in and volunteered for that tournament, not to mention, write about it, and I've been proud, not only because Cancer has touched my life, but I know so many it has to, and I want to help, even if it's hitting and shanking balls towards NNo. 6 green and people laughing at me doing so! Even if it's that, I was so glad to have been a part of it for as many years as I could.
So from here in Denver, have a great time everybody, and thank you to all of you who make this event the special day that it is!
Congrats to Beaver Creek Golf Course for not only getting the course up and running last week, but also for kicking off golf leagues.
Speaking of league, remember to send all results to gfergusongriz@gmail.com every Sunday.
