Donaldson Hall stands on the Northern Montana College, now Montana State University-Northern, campus in 1953.

The third building on Northern campus was the girl's residence hall, known by most as Donaldson Hall.
The building provided rooms for 116 women attending college at Northern. The living room at Donaldson, now known as the Commons, was a social and elegant setting for college dance and receptions.
The room was complete with fireplace and attractive furnishings. The grandness of Donaldson Hall quickly became the iconic symbol for the college. After a new residence hall was completed in 1971, Donaldson was unused for residence space.
