Wednesday, July 29

Havre's Hometown Humanities planning meeting will begin at 1 p.m. via conference call. Anyone wanting to learn about or offer suggestions for the Humanities Montana program in Havre can call 866-740-1260, give access code 2434649. For more information, call 406-243-6022.

Community Hero Carnival will be at Havre-Hill County Library 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Sounds on the Square will be at Town Square from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Milk River Band playing country. Everyone is welcome to come join the fun.

Story Time is at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. The event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Thursday, July 30

"Dracula," a Montana Actors' Theatre Youth Company production, is showing at 8 p.m. Doors at the MSU-Northern Little Theatre will open at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for students and seniors, and free to Northern students with a valid ID. Tickets are available at the door as well as Angie's Wildflowers, computer Center, Bear Paw Meats and Bear Paw Montana Realty.

Summer Library Movie Matinee will be showing "Box Trolls" at 2:30 p.m. at Havre-Hill County Library. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 265-2123.

Soccer pick-up games will be held this summer at Havre High School soccer fields Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. Games are for any middle school and high school students and adults. 

Friday, July 31

A mindfulness meditation group will meet at 2 p.m. at the Book Exchange in the upper level of the Atrium, 220 3rd Ave. This is a free group and everyone is welcome. Instruction is provided for those new to meditation. For more information, call 406-217-5222.

Lego Time and Robotics will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Havre-Hill County Library. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 265-2123.

Saturday, Aug. 1

Cos-Play all day at Pollington Healing Institute PLLC inside the Book Exchange, 220 3rd Ave. Play at any age is vital for healing, so anyone in costume at the store Saturdays will be entered into a drawing for a weekly prize. This is free, and everyone is welcome. For more information, call 406-217-5222.

Sunday, Aug. 2

A community potluck will begin at 6 p.m. at First Lutheran Church. Families with kids planning to attend Vacation Bible School can preregister and meet the counselors.

Monday, Aug. 3

Vacation Bible School, which will run 9 a.m. to noon through Friday, will begin with registration and checkin 8 to 9 a.m. at St. Jude Parish Center. For more information, call one of the participating churches: 265-5881, 265-2934, 265-4261, and 265-6923 or 265-4232.

Tuesday, Aug. 4

National Night Out will be held 6 to 8 p.m. at MSU-Northern Student Union Building Drive. The no-cost event will feature a free barbecue, live music, a helicopter, and raffles for a bike and for guns. The activities are sponsored by Havre Police Department in conjunction with the other local, state and federal law enforcement agencies from the area.

Fossil Festival meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Boxcars. Everyone is encouraged to attend. For more information, call Margie at 265-7721.

Kicks @ 6 summer concert series begins at 6 p.m. at Pepin Park with Sax Cadillac & the Other Brothers & Sistas playing Salsa and Latin music in "La Bamba."

The Hi-Line Quilt Guild meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Holiday Village Mall Community Center at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Aug. 5

A two-day Native American Entrepreneurial Workshop with RedWind begins this day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Stone Child College in the Jon Morsette Vo-Tech Center. The small business development workshop, including class materials and refreshments, is free and open to the public. I would LOVE to see our community list more events in this section. So many times you hear from a friend that went to some event or fundraiser that you didn't even hear about. Would love to see any little thing going on in Havre to be posted here.
