Denham signs with Skylights

A lot of good athletes have joined the Montana State University-Northern Skylights basketball program over the off-season, and as another signing was announced this week, the talent pool continues to grow.

Skylights head basketball coach Chris Mouat and the rest of the Skylights program are proud to announce the addition of former Malta standout Kylee Denham to the roster.

Denham will join the Skylights this fall and will bring with her a very impressive resume.

"Kylee is a great athlete," Mouat said. "She has the ability to do some very good things at both ends of the floor. She had an amazing high school career playing for one of the top programs in all of Montana. She knows how to win and is a great competitor." While attending Malta High School Denham was a multi-sport athlete who maintained a 4.0 grade point average in the classroom. In 2009 she graduated third in her class and was a member of the National Honor Society.

And on the court she was just as impressive, helping the M-Ettes reach a Saturday night game at the Class B State Tournament four straight years.

While Denham was a freshman, the M-Ettes finished fourth, as a sophomore they were crowned champions, as a junior they were third and as a senior they finished as state runners-up.

Denham was also a three-time All State selection in her prep basketball career.

"Kylee brings a lot to the Skylight program as a student and an athlete," Mouat said. "She is extremely athletic and really stands out in the classroom." Denham was also an All State volleyball player and was an All State selection for Malta track and field for four years. She competed in the 100- meter dash, the 300-meter hurdles and was part of three state championship 4x400 meter relay teams.

Denham hopefully will be an impact player and a valuable addition to the Skylights squad. She comes in as a transfer student from Montana State- Billings where she saw minutes in ten games as a true freshman.

Also hoping to continue great achievements in the classroom, Denham will major in biology while attending MSU-Northern.
