Local Bowling Report: Hi-Line Lanes Challenge coming next Saturday

Hi-Line Lanes Challenge will be Saturday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. The format will be the same as in the past with bowlers bowling six games across 12 lanes each with a different oil pattern from very dry to very oily. The cost is $55 with $200 added prize money. Bowlers are asked to sign up in advance, entries close Friday, Nov. 25. Call 265-5885 for more information.

TOURNEY TRAIL: It was reported to this writer that Shawn Mariani ended up a respectable 10th in Calgary, however Ryan Mapes did not fare so well as he missed the cut.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Actually two this week. It is that time of year as the mercuy starts to dip that bowlers should be alerted not to store their bowling ball in their vehicle from week to week. By leaving a ball in your vehicle you are asking for trouble. A cold bowling ball will have a tendency to break in half. If you don't have a locker at least put your ball in your house. The next topic was discussed last year. Bowlers should get in the habit of carrying a towel with them and wiping their ball off after every shot. By doing this it removes the oil the ball accumulated from the previous shot. Remember a clean ball will roll truer. The best towel to use is a microfiber one. You can purchase them at Wall Mart, K-Mart, or at the Lanes.

League bowlers are reminded once again to please fill out their sheets at the end of the night. Scores will not get into the paper if they are not completed. Also circle all Women's 200's, 500's and Mens 220's and 600's. Thank you.
