MSU-N's Maddock earns Frontier award

After a successful road trip to Lewiston, Idaho last weekend, Montana State University-Northern guard David Maddock has been named Frontier Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.

Maddock is a 6-foot-3, senior guard from Seattle, Wash. MSU-Northern won two games at the Lewis-Clark State Tournament, beating Southern Oregon 85-76 and the University of Alberta at Augustana 91-54.

For the tournament, Maddock averaged 16 points, 2.5 rebounds, four assists and three steals per game. He hit 53 percent of his field goals (11 of 21) including 7-of-15 3-point field goals. From the free-throw-line, he was 3-of-4.

Also nominated: P.J. Bolte of Lewis-Clark State, Brandon Brown of Montana-Western, Nick Jones of Carroll College and Matt Fogarty of Rocky Mountain.

Lewis-Clark State's Jasmine Stohr was honored on the women's side. Stohr is a 6-foot senior guard from Yakima, Wash. Lewis-Clark won three games this past weekend. At home they beat Walla Walla 107-25, while on the road, the Warriors beat Biola University 66-55 and Hope International 84-51.

The Lights travel to California this weekend for a pair of games against NAIA opponents. Northern takes on Menlo College Friday and California Maritime Academy Saturday. The Skylights are in Great Falls for games against Valley City State Friday and Central Baptist University Saturday.
