Holden's tourney moved to February at Hi-Line Lanes

Due to the NFL's Pro Bowl, and Havre's Marc Mariani being named to it, the date for the Holden's Hot Wheels tournament has been moved to Feb. 12-13.

There is one more week left in the Pepsi Challenge Tournament. Youth bowlers may bowl again if they so desire. It will be during league on Sunday.

PBA results, Chris Barnes came out smoking as he went through four bowlers to claim the top prize of $50,000 after a weekend of bowling. This weekend the Tournament of Champions is being held in Las Vegas with $250,000 going to the champ, should be very interesting.

Over the weekend four Havre bowlers traveled to our capital city to compete in the Millers Masters. Shawn Mariani ended up in third place overall, behind Bruce Hruska, and Shawn Jacobs, #1 from Helena. Kelly Olson received money back at 17th place. Also from Havre was Ryan Mapes and Austin Brug. From all reports the conditions were very, very tough.

Bowling Fact: In 1964 A.B.C. membership peaked out at over 4 million plus. Where are the bowlers? Bowling still is the cheapest game in town.

TIP OF THE WEEK: Keep a "quiet shoulder" during the swing, release, and follow through. The ideal position of the shoulder is quiet, neither forward or backward, and certainly not leading the shot. Not only does a quiet shoulder allow for better mechanics of the shoulder complex, but allows for more consistent accuracy and swing direction.
