Five Lights named Frontier All-Conference

The Frontier Conference men's basketball season came to a close Tuesday night with Lewis-Clark State knocking off Carroll College in the championship game. Wednesday, the league released its 2018-19 All-Conference Team and postseason awards, and five Montana State University-Northern Lights made the list.

MSU-N junior Kavon Bey was named Frontier Conference Sixth-Man of the Year. Bey, who came to Northern from Detroit, Michigan, averaged 12 points and seven rebounds per game while coming off the bench for the Lights, and recorded multiple double-doubles in conference play.

Bey was also one of five Lights to earn Honorable Mention All-Conference honors. Joining Bey were seniors Caulin Bakalarski and Justin Dunsmore, junior Adam Huse and sophomore Mascio McCadney. Junior Devin Bray was given the Champions of Character Award as well.

Carroll College's Match Burnham was named the Frontier Men's Player of the Year, while Saints' head coach Kurt Paulson was named Coach of the Year. Providence' Jalen Shepard was named Newcomer of the Year while UP's Jaxen Hashley and Carroll's Shamrock Campbell were selected co-Freshmen of the Year. Rocky Mountain College's Craig Wilmore was named Frontier Defensive Player of the Year. Carroll had the most First-Team All-Conference selections with three, including former Havre Blue Pony star Dane Warp, who finished the regular season averaging nearly 18 points per game.
