  • Sleepless nights and rocky days

    Sondra Ashton|Updated Jan 12, 2017

Three nights ago I couldn’t sleep. Rather than crawl out of bed, slump into a comfy chair and grab a good book, or even a boring book, something conducive to sleepiness, I chose to review every dumb, ignorant and bad decision I’ve made throughout my entire 71 years. Unlike in the past, now that I’m hopefully wiser, I rarely waste my time in such ways. But that night I simply couldn’t close the door. So I hosted the entire troop, which had been under lock and key for so long...

  • Frontier Notebook: Warriors, Dawgs take early leads

    George Ferguson|Updated Jan 12, 2017

If last week was any indication, there’s going to be some big momentum swings in the Frontier Conference throughout the next two months. But last week might also have shown that two teams are going to be really hard to beat. In the men’s and women’s standings, just one team in each is still unbeaten in league play. On the women’s side, Lewis-Clark State improved to 5-0 with a five-point win at UM-Western last Saturday. The Bulldogs were previously unbeaten and showed their m...

Fortunately for the Ponies, they will be plenty busy over the next couple of weeks. Havre, which was shorthanded at last Saturday's Hardin Invitational, will be back in the pool Saturday when the Ponies compete in a meet against Great Falls High and CMR. The meet will feature plenty of top competition, and that's just what the Blue Ponies are...
