    Press release The board of directors for Mountain View Co-op, Montana’s largest locally owned agricultural cooperative, says 2,400 farmers, ranchers and member owners across north-central Montana will share in an estimated $2.3 million equity redemption this week. This represents $1.5 million in local equity and $800,000 in regional cooperative equity.     A Havre businessman and former Havre District School Board chairman a was to be sentenced today in federal court but the hearing was delayed over a plea agreement. Shad James Huston, who pleaded guilty to theft from an Indian tribal organization, failure to file currency transaction reports and bribery, has been given a chance to redact his guilty plea after his lawyer contested the nature of one the counts. Huston previously pleaded guilty to accepting a payment of $300,000 from Tony Belcourt, who has already been sentenced... Full story

    The Havre High boys basketball team will play in the Class A state semifinals for the first time in 11 years. On Thursday night in Bozeman, the Ponies toppled Eastern A champion Billings Central 69-56. The win moves Havre into Friday night's semifinal game against Southwest A champion Dillon. Havre nearly led the entire game, and got 19 first-half points from Dane Warp, who finished the contest with 25. Nate Rismon also scored 18 as the Ponies improved to 16-7 on the season.     James Howard Eastlick Jr. was sentenced to six years of prison Wednesday for bribery, tax evasion and theft from an Indian tribal organization. Judge Brian Morris at the Missouri River Federal Courthouse gave Eastlick a break from what could have been a 108-month sentence. Due to Eastlick’s cooperation with the U.S. government with investigations into corruption at Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation and his lack of an apparent criminal history, Morris gave him one-third off the standard sentence.     Bear Paw Development Corp. received $26,250 to assist a Port of Wild Horse project. The grant funds will go toward a study that aims to track the economic activity between Montana and Alberta, Canada. Gov.
