    Members of the Great Northern County Fair Board during a post-fair meeting Tuesday night blamed erratic weather for the low attendance at this year's fair.   • Airport to close 3 weeks for runway repairs

    The Havre City-County Airport will be closed Aug. 3 to Aug. 21 while an overdue rehabilitation of the runway is completed. Terry Knowlton, general manager of the airport, said the reconstruction of the runway is part of the $3.1 million rehabilitation program the airport is undertaking.   • Task force lists drug case results

    The Tri-Agency Safe Trails Task Force released its annual report for the last fiscal year and has reportedly been busy. The task force doesn’t release information publicly as each case occurs and self-reports statistics of their work every year. In the 2014 to 2015 year, the task force worked 213 cases, 54 of which were in the fourth quarter, or April to June. The year stats extend from July 1, 2014 to June 31, 2015.     A fun run to celebrate the start of the college school year and to raise funds for Montana State University-Northern’s new cross-country program will be held Saturday, Aug. 22. A one-mile walk, 5K run and 10K run will be held throughout the city and areas south of the city.     A Box Elder man who was convicted in connection to a murder was sentenced to another term in prison for violating his probation. Jordan Charles Demontiney was sentenced to five months custody with 44 months of supervised release after using alcohol and methamphetamines during his probationary period after serving his first sentence for second-degree murder.
