    Four major Hi-Line projects received funding under Gov. Steve Bullock’s proposed budget that was unveiled Monday. While the Legislature has final say over the projects, Bullock ranked two Hill County projects very high on the list, meaning they have better chance of winning approval under the Treasure State Endowment Project.   • Marc Mariani signs with the Chicago Bears

    On Tuesday afternoon, Marc Mariani landed with his second NFL team. The Chicago Bears announced that they have signed the former Havre Blue Pony, Montana Grizzly and Tennessee Titan to a two-year contract. After four seasons, one in which he made the Pro Bowl, and two on injured reserve, Mariani was cut by the Titans at the end of the 2014 training camp.   • Bullock touts spending plan as opposition emerges

    BILLINGS (AP) — Gov. Steve Bullock on Tuesday sought to enlist the business community to help him promote to skeptical lawmakers a $300 million plan to upgrade state buildings, sewers, roads and other infrastructure across Montana. Doubtful lawmakers have questioned both the amount of spending and Bullock's desire to use bonds to cover about two-thirds of the costs.   • Santa Run OK'd by Havre council

    The Santa Run, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 29, just prior to the annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in downtown Havre, has received approval from Havre City Council. Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Debbie Vandeberg told council that her group wanted to add some more excitement to the annual tree-lighting ceremony. People are encouraged to dress up as Santa Claus, and kids are urged to wear elf costumes.   • Boy Scouts come together for food drive

    Boy Scout troops came together Monday night to collect nonperishable food items for the Havre Food Bank. Troops 1438 and 1492, along with their supporters gathered outside Messiah Lutheran Church on the cold November evening, piled into cars and set out to collect the food items.   • Havre Trails created, to hold meeting

    The first official Havre Trails meeting will be held Dec. 8 at Property West LLC at 5:30 p.m. The group has been formed to push for the completion of trail projects in the area and promote walking and biking in the community.
