A busy time for HHS swimmers

The Havre High boys and girls swim teams have been busy since the holiday break ended. Now, the Blue Ponies are going to get even busier.

Today, the Ponies are in Great Falls for a double-dual against the Great Falls High Bison and CMR Rustlers. From there, HHS travels to Missoula for Saturday's Missoula Invitational. After this weekend, the Blue Ponies have only next Saturday's Helena In

vitational to prepare for the upcoming All-Class State Meet next month in Hardin.

Havre returns to Great Falls today less than a week after competing well in the Great Falls Invite last Saturday. Both Pony teams finished seventh in the meet, as the only Class A school in the field. Individually, Pony swimmers like Nick Rhines, Desmond Fialkosky, Taylor Riphenburg, Hannah Pepprock, Lieza Reighard and Morgan Jappe all swam strong, as did several HHS relay teams.

As for today's duals, it will be the second time Havre has squared off with the Bison and the Rustlers. HHS hosted both Great Falls schools in a dual meet last month in Havre, so the Ponies are very familiar with both teams.

Saturday's Missoula Invite will feature most of Class AA, including the Bison, Rustlers, AA favorite Helena High, all three Missoula schools, and both Kalispell squads. So the meet will be a good test for the Ponies as they try to get faster and better before the state meet.

Today's dual with the Bison and Rustlers starts at 4 p.m. at the Bison Pool in Great Falls. Saturday's Missoula Invite will begin at 10 a.m. at the Grizzly Pool on the campus of the University of Montana in Missoula.
