Hi-Line Athletes of the Week

Jase Stokes, Havre High Wrestling

Havre High freshman Jase Stokes probably didn’t think he’d come away with the most dominant performance of any HHS wrestler at this weekend’s state tournament in Billings. But he did. Stokes beat Columbia Falls Bryan Schaffer by pin in the Class A 152-pound state championship match Saturday night. Not only did Stokes earn a state title his first time out, but he also earned the Quick Pin Award, as he pinned all four of his opponents in the least amount of time throughout the two-day tournament. Stokes’ run was also key in helping HHS secure the team title this weekend.

Havre Girls Swim Team

It was an impressive Montana State Swim Meet for all of the Havre High girls who jumped into the Butte YMCA Pool this past weekend. HHS scored 36 points and also placed in two individual events and all three relay races, good enough for the Ponies to finish ahead of six AA schools. Representing the Ponies was Lita Cammon, Lieza Reighard, Morgan Jappe, Mckenna Barkus, Jackie Martin, Megan Smith, Megan Malone, Aubri McCann, Alara Vogel, Carly Rennick, Hailee Kilgore and Hannah Pepprock.

The Ponies are coached by Jill Cammon.
