Tuesday, Oct. 6

Auditions for “A Seussified Christmas Carol,” a Montana Actors' Theatre production, will be held at MSU-Northern's Little Theatre in Cowan Hall at 6 p.m. No experience is necessary. The production is casting adults only. For more information, contact Katie at 390-3054 or Andi at 399-7014.

Havre Public Schools Native American Parent Meeting will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library to speak on school topics and eat soup and bread.

Havre Public Schools 2nd Annual Barbecue for families with students enrolled in K-prep through 12th grade at Havre High by the main door 5:30 to 7 p.m. A choir concert will follow at 7:30 p.m.

The Hi-Line Quilt Guild meets the first Tuesday of the month at the Holiday Village Mall Community Center at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 7

Books and Babies and Story Time will be replaced with a trip to the Havre Fire Department. Meet at the library at 10:15 a.m. or 3:15 p.m. to walk to the fire station, or meet at the the station at 10:30 a.m. or 3:30 p.m. for Fire Prevention Week activities. The event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Hill County Democrats Pasma-Peck Dinner starts at 6 p.m. at the Havre Eagles Club with Gov. Steve Bullock and state auditor candidate Jesse Laslovich the featured speakers. The fundraiser, featuring a prime rib dinner, is $35 and $15 for those 18 and younger.

Thursday, Oct. 8

Fall Reading Series, featuring "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle" by Haruki Murakami, will be held at 7 p.m. at Havre-Hill County Library. April Snyder will be the discussion leader.

Dancing at the North Central Senior Center at 2 2nd St. W. begins at 7 p.m.

Lego Time and Robotics will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Havre-Hill County Library. This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 265-2123.

Friday, Oct. 9

Artitudes featured artist reception for ”Out of the Box“ artist Jill Kaniwischer starts at 6 p.m. in the gallery in the Atrium.

Monday, Oct. 12

Hunter Safety Course begins this day and runs through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. each evening at Kennewash Hall at Stone Child College. The course is for prospective hunters 11 years and older. Parents and guardians of those under 18 must attend the first evening for signature cards. For more information, call Mike Ley at 395-4125 evenings.

Davey Elementary School Board will meet at 6 p.m. at the school.

The Bear Paw Chapter of retired teachers will meet at noon in the Duck Inn Vineyard Room for a no-host luncheon. Guest speakers will be Marilyn Granell and Peggy Perry. All retired teachers are welcome to attend.

Havre Community Pool will be closed on Monday, October 12. For further information call 265-5781 or 8161.

The North Central Hangar of the Montana Pilots Association will hold its monthly meeting starting at 7:30 p.m. in the terminal at the Havre City-County Airport.

Friends of Beaver Creek Park monthly meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Van Orsdel United Methodist Church.

Wednesday, Oct. 14

Books and Babies is at 10:15 a.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. This event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Story Time is at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Havre-Hill County Library. Participants will have many crafts to choose from. The event is free, and everybody is welcome.

Thursday, Oct. 15

Photographer Jill Brody's "Hidden in Plain Sight" artist's talk and gallery reception, featuring large-scale images that capture the daily life of Montana's Liberty County Hutterite colony, will be at 7:30 p.m. at Vande Bogart Library, at MSU-Northern. This event is part of the Chancellor's Lecture Series. For more information, call 265-3700.

Women’s Empowerment Class will be 4 p.m. at Pollington Healing Institute PLLC at 220 3rd Ave, Suite 411. The class offers help to give up insecurity and create a sense of confidence and empowerment. Register early as space is limited. For more information, call 406-217-5222.

Havre Community Pool will have recreation swim time from 1 to 4 p.m. Cost is $2. For more information, call 265-8161 or 265-5781.

Friends of the Havre-Hill County Library will meet at noon at the library. Annual dues will be collected. For more information, call 265-2123.

I would LOVE to see our community list more events in this section. So many times you hear from a friend that went to some event or fundraiser that you didn't even hear about. Would love to see any little thing going on in Havre to be posted here.

HPS Education Foundation hosting the annual HOLIDAY HOOPS Blue Pony alumni basketball games on Friday December 27th at the Havre Middle School. First game at 6:30pm. Players contact Tony at 390-6178 or Grayson at Master Sports. Fun for the whole family!
