Obituary - Adrienne C. Bostic

Adrienne C. Bostic, 89, passed away on Monday, Oct. 13, 2014, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes. Cremation has taken place, and private family graveside services will be held in the immediate future. The family has requested that memorials be made in Adrienne's name to the Havre Senior Center or to the charity of the donor's choice.

Adrienne was born on April 28, 1925, in Spokane, Washington, to Forrest and Lavina (Roberts) Burton. She was raised in Spokane, graduating from John Rodgers High School and from Whitman Business College with a certificate in business. During World War II, Adrienne worked at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane. She married Harold Bostic in August 1946 in Spokane. The couple relocated a few times, finally landing in Havre in 1952, where they put down their roots, raising their children there. Adrienne cooked for St. Jude Catholic School and worked for the Highway Patrol in their Licensing Department before beginning her work as a telephone operator for Ma Bell. She retired from Ma Bell in 1976, and began her volunteer work at the Havre Public Schools, reading to the elementary school children at Lincoln-McKinley.

Adrienne was a fun-loving woman who enjoyed crocheting, fishing and walking. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed her crossword puzzles and word searches. She possessed a fantastic sense of humor and enjoyed teasing her loving family.

Adrienne was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bostic; her son, David Bostic; her son-in-law, Roger Loe; her parents, Forrest and Lavina Burton; her sister, Veloise Wilman; and her brother, Keith Burton.

She is survived by her children, Pam Loe and Greg (Judy) Bostic, all of Havre; her 10 grandchildren; her 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Mike (Linda) Burton of Portland, Oregon; her two nephews; and her niece.
