Disability rights workshop set

Press release

A workshop, Helping Employees Request Reasonable Accommodations, will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Bullhook Clinic, 521 4th St.

The program is sponsored by the Havre Job Service Employer Committee.

The American Disabilities Act states that employers must make appropriate and reasonable accommodations for employees with disabilities when requested.

Among the questions that will be answered for employers:

• How do people know if they have rights under the ADA?

• How do people know when to request a reasonable accommodation?

• What if an employer denies my accommodation request?

• What if an employer retaliates against for requesting an accommodation?

• What is the employer’s response to a request for a reasonable accommodation?

The workshop will answer these questions for those who are assisting individuals with disabilities seeking employment opportunities.

Roberta Zenker from Disability Rights Montana will be the presenter for this informative workshop on ADA requirements for employees and employers.

Admission is one nonperishable food item that will be donated to the Havre Food Bank.
