Guthneck wins free fuel from Cenex in Tanks of Thanks

Press release

ST. PAUL, MINN. — A north-central Montana resident has received a special “thank you” for his contributions to the community. The Rev. Peter Guthneck of Big Sandy, Mont., was selected to receive free fuel from Tanks of Thanks®, a program that rewards people who do good deeds to help make their communities just a little bit better.

The Tanks of Thanks program from CHS and Cenex retailers encourages people to nominate friends, family and neighbors for free fuel as a way to say thank you for doing good in the community. Each month, CHS and Cenex retailers give away more than $5,000 in free fuel through the Tanks of Thanks program.

Guthneck is a priest who was nominated for the time and dedication he gives to his three rural parishes. Guthneck routinely drives between these parishes to provide ministry and help to his churchgoers. Recently, Guthneck was selected to receive a $50 Tanks of Thanks gift card, which is redeemable at any Cenex location.

“There are people doing good things in every local community, and these acts of kindness do not go unnoticed or unappreciated,” said Akhtar Hussain, CHS refined fuels brand marketing manager. “Congratulations to Peter Guthneck, and thank you for your contributions to the community.”

Hussain said Tanks of Thanks is a multiyear program, so there is plenty of time to nominate someone for free fuel.

“Nominating someone for Tanks of Thanks is easy, and anyone can nominate or be nominated for any act of kindness — big or small,” Hussain added.

To make a nomination, people can visit http://www.cenex.com/tanks-of-thanks and briefly describe why someone deserves a Tank of Thanks.

The Cenex Tanks of Thanks program, offered by CHS energy, encourages people to nominate others for free fuel as a way to recognize and reward their contributions to the community.

Each month, 100 nominees are drawn at random to receive a Tanks of Thanks gift card worth $50 redeemable at any Cenex-branded retail location. In addition to the monthly drawing, Cenex retailers can also give away Tanks of Thanks gift cards to reward individuals they see doing good in their local communities.

Since the program started in 2012, Tanks of Thanks has recognized more than 14,000 people and given away more than $280,000 in free fuel.

People can visit http://www.cenex.com to make a nomination and read stories from communities across the country.

So does this mean he should stay out of tribal politics and keep to his church.
