Daines backs Rubio

U.S. Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., has endorsed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio's campaign for president, becoming the first member of Montana's congressional delegation to publicly back a presidential candidate in the 2016 race.

"Marco represents the next generation of conservative leadership who will inspire and unite our country," said Daines, a freshman Republican senator from Bozeman.

Daines was elected to the Senate last year, after serving one term as in the House of Representatives.
