Vandals steal liquor from 5th Ave. restaurant

Ryan “Spud” Sorensen, the owner of Spud’s Grub Hut who reported to police Sunday morning that someone had shattered the window to his restaurant sometime after Saturday night’s closing, said the only thing the vandals got away with was a half bottle of McAfee’s Benchmark bourbon.

“If anyone showed up at a party late that night with a half a bottle, they probably robbed me,” Sorensen said.

Spud’s Grub Hut is the fourth business off 5th Avenue to get vandalized within a month. Taco Treat, 5th Ave Grind and Rod’s Drive Inn have all had windows shattered and the tills taken out of the cash registe...
