Rachel Nystrom, left, and Cathee Litzinger haul food from Havre Optemetric Clinic's Frames for Food collection to the Havre Food Bank Monday. Patients at the clinic donated 234 pounds of food in the drive, in which the clinic gave patients eyeglass frames in exchange for a bag full of food.
Another local business has wrapped up a drive to help Havre Food Bank help people in need this holiday season, with Havre Optometric Clinic donating 204 pounds of food collected through its Food for Frames food drive.
Optician Cathy Litzinger said the collection ran for about a month, with the clinic giving people free eyeglass frames when they brought in a bag filled with food or made a monetary donation to the Food Bank.
"It's really important for us to give back," Litzinger said. " ... We wanted to do something."
