Spring and summer open burning season began March 1

HELENA — The Montana spring and summer open burning season opened March 1.

The Department of Environmental Quality reminds people to:

1. Obtain a permit from your local county fire control authority.

2. On the day of your burn, activate your county permit.

3. Be aware of local conditions and burn smart.

4. Check back on Sept. 1 for fall burning restrictions.
