    Greg Kegel, who has been serving as interim chancellor at Montana State University-Northern for over for last school year, has been named permanent chancellor. “I am please to share that Greg Kegel has agreed to serve as Montana State University-Northern’s new Chancellor,” wrote Waded Cruzado, president of the Montana State University system, in an email to the MSU-Northern staff.   • Suspect held after Highland Park stabbing

    An "individual of interest" is in custody with Havre police after stabbings early Saturday morning at an 11th Street West residence. Police said that several people were stabbed about about 4:30 a.m. Havre police and Department of Criminal Investigation officers are investigating.     Local school boards in the area are having their annual elections Tuesday. Read up on what you will be voting on in your area here. Big Sandy Big Sandy school will not be having an election this year. Box Elder Box Elder school will not be having an election. Chinook One three-year trustee position is up for election, and Joel Pruttis and Mark Harshman are running for it. There will also be a mil levy on the ballot.     The Montana Republican Party has filed complaints with the state Commission on Political Practice against former Democratic state Sen. Greg Jergeson and the Montana League of Rural Voters.     Press release Box Elder High School seniors, Jenna Parker and Alex Gardipee, received GEAR UP Pathways Scholarships. The scholarship, valued at $23,100, may be used at any private or public 2- or 4-year institution that grants associate or bachelor degrees. In order to compete for the Pathways Scholarship, applicants must complete a project. Jenna Parker used her original photographs to make posters.
