  • Garage sale season

For many people, Saturday morning is a great time to take a walk, cook breakfast, mow the lawn, or even sleep in. For others, it's also a great opportunity to go shopping - at garage sales. They come to pick through the trinkets and treasures that have lost their novelty or their owners' affection, and maybe - if the price is right - make them their own. During any weekend, there might...

  • Comets end season against Knights

If one inning could sum up an entire season, it would be the first inning of Monday's game between the Havre Comets and Medicine Hat Knights at Legion Field. After pulling off a dramatic 3-2 win in the opener, Havre seemed poised to pull off the sweep. But in the end, as has been the case so many times this season, one bad inning came back to haunt the Comets. Medicine... Full story

  • State AG says extradition warrant precludes bond

Prisoners who waive extradition to face charges in another state are not eligible for bail in Montana, Attorney General Mike McGrath said in an opinion issued Monday at the request of Hill County Attorney Cyndee Peterson. In the opinion, McGrath said bail can be allowed before a prisoner is served with a governor's extradition warrant, but not after. Peterson said she requested the opinion in March to clarify an issue that arose earlier this year after a New Mexico man tried to bond out of jail in Havre while awaiting...

CTEP funds...
