Crites selected for junior nationals team

KG basketball standout Casey Crites has been invited to participate in the USA Junior Nationals Championship Sports Festival July 8-14 in Columbus, Ohio.

Crites, who will be a senior this fall, competed at the USA Junior Nationals all-state high school basketball competition in Butte in April to qualify for the national team.

The USA Junior Nationals team, based in Madison, Wis., provides amatuer competition throughout the United States and offers its program to all athletes who have an interest in basketball and are interested in developing their skills and techniques through statewide, national and international competition. The competition is an opportunity for all athletes to improve their basketball talent through organized competition.

USA Junior Nationals offers one-day competitions at 37 sites throughout the country in the spring with competitions scheduled throughout the south, midwest, east and west coasts. Athletes who demonstrate advanced skills, team leadership, competitive spirit and good sportsmanship advance to the next level of play, which is the USA Junior National Sports Festival in Ohio.

Crites is the son of Russ and Mary Pat Crites of Gildford.
