SHARI HARRIS obituary

WHITEFISH - Shari Marie McCann Harris, 43, died at her home in Whitefish on Friday, Sept. 23, 2004, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.

A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on Oct. 9 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Whitefish.

Cremation has taken place.

Shari was born in Billings on Aug. 9, 1961, to Donald L. and Joneva Svetich McCann. Shari attended elementary schools in Yellowstone National Park and Billings. She graduated from high school in Bozeman in 1979, after spending a year as a foreign exchange student in Japan with her host parents Mikio and Asako Akune. She later returned to Japan where she attended college before returning to college in Bozeman.

Shari applied her many talents and creative ability successfully in both her personal life and business pursuits.

She married Rex Harris in Havre on May 18, 1985, and was the proud and loving mother of two sons, Evan Alexander and Adam Lee, who were the center of her life. Shortly after they were married, she and Rex also chose to be host parents to Margarita Toral of Cuenco, Ecuador.

Shari was a caring, giving person who will be remembered for her generosity and take-charge way of helping anyone who needed her.

Survivors include her husband, Rex of Whitefish; sons, Evan and Adam, both of Whitefish; parents, Don and Jonny McCann of Kalispell; sister, Lesli McIntosh of Kalispell; brother Mike (Liz) McCann of Meeker, Colo.; two nephews; and many friends and a large extended family.

Memorials may be made to Wings at 310 Sunnyview Lane, Kalispell, MT 59901, or to the charity of your choice.

Austin Funeral Home of Whitefish is in charge of arrangements.
