CHARLES HIATT obituary

Charles “Trent” Hiatt, 49, of Havre died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2006, at Northern Montana Care Center due to complications from cancer.

His funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Rice officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Highland Cemetery. A fellowship luncheon will be held in the back room of the Oxford Bar immediately after the service at the graveside.

Trent was born April 28, 1956, in Havre to Charles and Alice (Smith) Hiatt. He was raised and educated in Havre. Trent enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1973. He was honorably discharged in 1977.

Trent returned to Havre after the Navy and went to work as an independent contractor, working for various people in Havre and the Hi- Line. He worked for General Mills at grain elevators in Inverness and Joplin for 10 years. Trent also worked for District IV Human Resources Development Council, weatherizing homes.

He married Cany Goli. She preceded him in death in 2004.

Trent was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed being in the outdoors fishing, hunting, doing carpentry work or just relaxing in the Bear Paw Mountains at his friend's cabin. Trent was a very kind person who was always willing to help others when asked.

Survivors include his parents, Charles and Arlene Hiatt of Havre; daughter, Danita; sisters, Sarita (Bill) Kuhn and Therese Cowdery, both of Havre; two nieces; and one nephew.

Memorials in Trent's honor can be made to the Gift of Life Housing, P.O. Box 7008, Great Falls, MT 59406 or to a person's choice.

Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.
