CHERYL K. GRUSZIE obituary CHINOOK

Cheryl K. Gruszie, 60, passed away unexpectedly of a brain aneurysm on Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Billings Clinic.

Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 25, 2008, at 11 a. m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Havre with burial following at Kuper Memorial Cemetery in Chinook. Memorials may be sent to Youth Ministries at Christ The King Lutheran Church, 709 Newman Dr., Billings, MT 59101, or to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1100 11th Ave., Havre, MT 59501. Arrangements are by Edwards Funeral Home of Chinook. Cheryl was born on Nov. 12, 1947, in Havre to Harold and Elizabeth (Detra) Chapman. She attended schools in Chinook and graduated from Chinook High School. Cheryl married Howard Gruszie on Oct. 30, 1964, in Havre. She was involved with her husband on the family farm south of Chinook. Cheryl was also a Sunday school teacher for 13 years in Chinook, active with her children in the 4-H programs and also a member of the W.I.F.E. organization for a number of years. Cheryl loved to read and loved animals. The apples of her eye were the grandchildren. Cheryl is survived by her mother, Beth Chapman of Chinook; husband, Howard Gruszie of Chinook; son, Vincent (Alisha) Gruszie of Havre; daughters, Lisa Preeshl and Pam (Dan) Monaco, both of Billings, Kathy (John) Costello of Seattle; mother-inlaw, Louise Gruszie of Chinook, nine grandchildren; brothers, Max Chapman of Golden, Colo., Doug Chapman of Naperville, Ill., Brett Chapman of Missoula, Todd Chapman of Hermiston, Ore.; sister, Karen Cleveland of Great Falls, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Chapman in 1987.
