Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials are seeking information from the public about the illegal killing of a 6-by-7-foot bull elk on the Woody Island Coulee Block Management Area north of Turner.
Havre-based warden Wes Oedekoven said it is believed the elk was shot on Oct. 2. The carcass, which was left to rot, was found on a section of state land within the BMA. The antlers were not removed.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call Oedekoven at (406) 262-2407 or the Turn In Poachers-Montana hotline at (800) TIP-MONT (800) 847-6668. Callers can remain anonymous and may be offered a cash reward if the information leads to an arrest.
