Gov't offices close Friday, banks open

While the Havre Daily News will publish an edition the day before Christmas and most businesses will be open at least part of the day, governmental offices will be closed that day in observance of the holiday.

The local Boys & Girls Club also will offer special hours and busing during the holiday.

The Havre Daily will remain open on Friday, with the office open until 4 p.m. and the paper published and delivered that day. The paper will take Monday, Dec. 27, off in observance of the holiday and no paper will be published that day.

Most businesses are staying open for at least part of the day Friday, including the office of the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber office will stay open until 2 p.m. Friday, and will reopen Monday, Dec. 27.

Local banks generally are staying open through the morning with many closing in the early afternoon for Christmas Eve.

The Boys & Girls Club of the Hi-Line announced it will have special hours next week during the holiday. The club will be open from noon until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with a free lunch served from from noon to 1 p.m. daily.

Schedules are available at the front desk of the club.
