Police looking into Saturday night shooting incident

The Havre Police Department is investigating a number of gunshots that rang out Saturday night.

According to Acting Police Chief Gabe Matosich, officers began receiving reports around 11:55 p. m. Saturday night of a "male on a rooftop on the 100 block of 9th Avenue, " firing a weapon into the air.

"It looks like he may have been upset about something, " Matosich said.

Two officers were sent out to investigate the call initially, with assistance from the Hill County Sheriff's Office and the U. S. Border Patrol.

Matosich said officers were not able to locate the shooter or figure put why he was shooting. They are still tracking down and interviewing witnesses to determine what happened and why.
