Scott S. Preuninger

Scott S. Preuninger, 59, a longtime resident of Manchester, Mich., passed away suddenly Nov. 1, 2011.

He was born Feb. 13, 1952, in Billings, Mont., to Leonard G. and Laurel A. (Stevenson) Preuninger. He graduated from Seoul American High School in Korea, attended Northern Montana College in Havre, Mont., and received his Bachelor of Science from Siena Heights University, Adrian, Mich.

When Scott was 16, he got his pilot's license and flew as a commercial pilot for many years. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and the Manchester United Methodist Church. Scott was a true outdoorsman. He loved fly fishing, boating, aviation and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He adored his grandson, Liam. He had a trademark sense of humor and was the ultimate handyman, helping family friends and strangers alike.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Carrie, and daughter, Abigail, both of Manchester; son, Casey (Phoebe) and grandson, Liam, of Holland, Mich. ; mother and stepfather, Laurel and Richard Knapp of Havre, Mont. ; sister, Janet (John) Ryan, Hampton, Va. ; stepbrothers, Lee (Kathy) of Yuma, Ariz., and Allen (Susan) of Ames, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at the Manchester United Methodist Church. Rev. Larry Wik officiated.
