Robert Dee Summers

Robert Dee Summers Jr., 62, passed away from cancer and went to be with his Lord on Oct. 27, 2011.

He was born March 12, 1949, in Havre, Mont., to Robert and Elizabeth (Leach) Summers.

As a child, Robert moved with his family to several Montana towns including Cut Bank, Great Falls and Miles City, before moving to Bozeman in 1963.

He graduated from Bozeman Senior High School in 1967. He then attended the University of Montana where he graduated from the School of English and History. He taught school for two years in Harlem, Mont. He then worked for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway in Missoula and later in Havre. He took a disability retirement in 2008, and moved to Bozeman in 2010.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Dennis; and his father, Robert Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Summers, Bozeman; brother, Kenneth Summers, Seattle, Wash. ; and his two children, Sierra Summers and Ben Summers, Plains, Mont.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday, Oct. 29, in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 3 p. m. at Grace Bible Church.

Donations in his name may be made to the Bozeman Deaconess Foundation for the Cancer Center, 931 Highland Blvd. Ste. 3200, Bozeman, MT 59715; to the Mission Fund of Grace Bible Church, 3625 S. 19th, Bozeman, MT 59718, or to a charity of choice.
