Lynn (Brendgord) Roll Nelson

Lynn (Brendgord) Roll Nelson, 74, of Havre, passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Northern Montana Care Center of natural causes. She has been cremated, and her memorial service will be held in the spring when the flowers bloom and robins sing.

The family is requesting that memorial donations be made to the English Springer Rescue of America (ESRA) or the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation. Holland & Bonine Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

She was born to the late Arleigh and Ester (Tate) Brendgord, Sept. 12, 1937, in Havre, Mont. Lynn graduated from Havre High School in 1955. She married the late Gene D. Roll in 1956, and they lived together in Kalispell and Shelby Mont., before relocating back to Havre in 1967. She was divorced in 1978 and later wed Clayton Nelson of Havre, Mont., in 1993.

Lynn worked at the old Deaconess hospital and the newer Northern Montana Hospital for many years after returning to Havre. She was later employed at Flynn Realty as a bookkeeper/secretary until she retired in 1999. She was a wonderful receptionist as she always enjoyed meeting and greeting new people.

Lynn loved to garden and work in her yard cultivating beautiful flowers. She enjoyed decorating her homes in a classic graceful style. But most of all, she enjoyed all the dogs and cats she shared her life with, cherishing each one of them after either rescuing them from neglectful situations or adopting strays that needed a loving home and a second chance.

Her son Charles B. Roll preceded her in death as did her brother Jon Brendgord of Havre.

Lynn is survived by one child, Joan E. Roll, of Albuquerque, N.M. She also is survived by two granddaughters: Kristin Roll of Missoula, and Keri Roll of Havre; and one great-grandchild, Chloe.
