Lorene Rothfusz
Lorene Rothfusz, born Lorene Mathilda Entzel, entered this world June 15, 1933, and departed this world, joining her dear Heavenly Father, March 30, 2013. Lorene was the first-born child of Henry and Mathilda Entzel, followed by seven treasured siblings. She is survived by three brothers and two sisters, Arnie (Jan) Entzel of Coon Rapids, Minn., Marjean (Ed) Hill of Columbus, Ohio, Larry (Kathy) Entzel, of Minot, N.D., Don (Val) Entzel of Mandan, N.D, Fern (Oscar) Rothfusz of Georgetown, Texas.
Lorene began her life in Dunn Center, N.D. The family later moved to Mandan N.D. and she spent her childhood growing up on the cherished family farm. While attending Capitol Commercial College in Bismarck, she met and soon married Leonard Rothfusz. The young couple started a family in Bismarck and later moved to Hebron, N.D. to raise their growing brood. Leonard and Lorene owned Auto Implement in Hebron and spent their years in North Dakota, until the family moved to Havre in August 1981.
In October 1999, Lorene moved to Missoula, Mont., to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Although her life called on her to fulfill many roles and perform many jobs, the roles of mother and grandmother, and the job of homemaker, were the ones she treasured most dearly. She loved each child and grandchild in her own very special and giving way. She never asked of others more than she was willing to give of herself.
Lorene was a trusted friend to many, including her children. We will miss the clasp of her hand in ours, the understanding and reassurance of her motherly ear, the wisdom and guidance of her words. She created a place for us to feel comfortable and call home wherever she lived. We will miss her more than words can say. Lorene is survived by her daughter, Lori Rothfusz of Bozeman, Debra (Craig) Sommer of Missoula, Brian (Sherri) Rothfusz of Lewiston, Idaho, Kathy (Perry) Schneider of Missoula, Sandra (Rusty) Richardson of Missoula; 17 beautiful grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
