Gladys Aman was born in Chinook, Mont., Nov. 5, 1933, to Carl and Hannah Bosch. She grew up on an irrigated farm near Chinook and attended grade school at a rural school house, then attended Chinook High School where she graduated in 1951.

From the time she was a small child she knew she wanted to be a teacher. She attended Northern Montana College in Havre, where she received her bachelor's degree in elementary education. Gladys retired in 1994, having spent a total of 41 years teaching school. Gladys always loved teaching and enjoyed reading and hearing about the accomplishments of her former students.

Growing up, she was very active in 4-H and won many national awards and trips, especially with her leadership and gardening projects. She continued her love of gardening when she moved to Big Sandy and was well known for her beautiful garden and loved sharing her vegetables with her neighbors and friends.

Gladys was a member of Christ Lutheran Church and was active in the Big Sandy Senior Center.

Gladys is survived by her only son, Brent (DeDe) Polson, and her grandchildren, Valerie and Zachary, who were her pride and joy. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray; her brother, Burton Bosch and her parents.
