Women charged for dragging woman with car

Two women are facing felony charges alleging they dragged another woman alongside a vehicle during an attempted theft.

Gloria Crazy Boy of Havre, born in 1976, and Leslie A. Crazy Boy, year of birth and place of residence not available, each are charged with a felony count of criminal endangerment and a misdemeanor count of assault.

An arraignment hearing for each defendant is scheduled for May 13.

According to the charging documents, a woman called the Hill County Sheriff's Office April 27 to report she had been dragged by a vehicle.

When a sheriff's deputy arrived, near 9th Avenue Northwest, he noticed that the caller was dusty and was checking scrapes near one of her elbows, and also had a scrape on her right shoulder, both of which appeared to be road rash, the documents say.

The woman's father and small child also were at the scene.

The woman said she was back in the area visiting from her out-of-state residence, and went to visit Leslie Crazy Boy, who is her relative.

The alleged victim said Leslie Crazy Boy asked her to follow her to North Havre. When they arrived at a North Havre tavern, Crazy Boy asked the people in both vehicles to wait for her, that included the alleged victim and her passengers, along with Gloria Crazy Boy and two others who were in the vehicle which Leslie Crazy Boy drove to the site.

The alleged victim said Leslie Crazy Boy later drove up next to her vehicle and told her to hand over some money, and the woman said, "No."

The woman said Leslie Crazy Boy then grabbed her by the hair while the alleged victim sat in her own vehicle and Crazy Boy struck her several times.

The alleged victim said she and her passengers were able to get away, but Crazy Boy pursued her in her own vehicle.

The woman said that once they stopped their vehicles, Crazy Boy got out of her vehicle, reached inside the alleged victim's vehicle and grabbed her bag, which the woman said had very little cash in it.

The woman followed Crazy Boy back to her vehicle and tried to get her bag back, and Crazy Boy tried to assault her again, the documents say. Leslie Crazy Boy then threw the bag in the back seat, next to Gloria Crazy Boy.

When the woman again tried to grab her bag, Gloria Crazy Boy grabbed her arm and Leslie Crazy Boy started driving the vehicle forward, then started backing up, the documents say.

The woman said Gloria Crazy Boy was dragging her alongside the vehicle, and she thought she was going to be run over and had to push herself off a tire of the vehicle using her foot.

While this was going on, her father reached into the vehicle and retrieved her bag, the woman said.

No charges had been filed against the other people reported as passengers in Crazy Boy's vehicle as of printing deadline this morning.
