Still time to register for Community Education

Just because you're not enrolled in one of Havre's public schools doesn't mean the districts have nothing to teach you.

Tomorrow will be the last day to register for this year's Community Education classes, with a catalog of 39 classes being taught by community experts over the next several weeks.

The classes run between two hours and eleven weeks long and cost anything from $3, for a class on managing retirement funds, up to $50, for a couple's curling lesson.

There are classes on CPR, fly-tying, knitting, computer maintenance, aqua aerobics, body sculpture, preparing and canning red meats and poultry, buying with ebay, selling with ebay, sign language, two levels of genealogy, jewelry making, and how to make shrimp tacos with pico de gallo. Council member Brian Barrows is teaching an early fitness walking class, three days a week.

Anyone at least 18 years old can sign up for a class:

People more than 62 years old can get a 62+ card, which allows them to get a discount on one of the multi-evening classes. Those cards are available at Robins and in the Havre High School office.
