Patricia Gaye Ekman, 63, passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013, at her home in Havre.

Her memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Tim Maroney officiating. Memorial contributions in Patricia's honor may be made to a local Humane Society or to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Oregon and Southwest Washington, Attn: Donations, 2620 N. Commercial Ave., Portland, OR 97227. Services and arrangements have been entrusted to Holland & Bonine Funeral Home.

Pat was born Jan. 23, 1950, in East Chicago, Ind. She was raised and educated in Whiting, Ind. She graduated from George Rogers Clark High School. She married Randall Ekman in National City, Calif., in 1974. She met him while visiting her sister in California. After she and Randall were married, they lived in National City until he was discharged from the military. After his discharge, they moved to Toledo, Ore. They had two sons, Randall and Scott. Pat stayed home and raised her boys. She went to work at the National Security Bank as a teller. Pat worked for them for 25 years and then retired. She and Randall were divorced in 2005, and in 2010 Pat moved to Havre, Mont., to be near her sister, Dotti, and her family. In Havre she worked at Kmart.

Pat enjoyed traveling, she was an animal lover, enjoyed camping with her family and enjoyed walking her dogs. She enjoyed spending time traveling to Europe and Switzerland. She was involved in her children's activities and supported Scott in his drama in high school and grew to love touring museums.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pat is survived by her two sons, Randall (Terra) Ekman of Pendleton, Ore., and Scott Ekman of Wilsonville, Ore.; her ex-husband, Randall Ekman of Siletz, Ore.; one grandson, Trace Ekman of Pendleton, Ore.; her sister, Dottie Rice of Havre, and brother-in-law, Bob Rice of Missoula, Mont. She is also survived by a niece, Marianne (Joel) Culley, great-nephew, Jacoby and great-niece, Layla Culley, all of Havre; nephews, Robby Rice of San Diego, Calif., and Bill Rice of Bozeman, Mont.; her many friends in Havre and Canada; and her coworkers at Kmart.
