Sunnyside principal up for Hamilton position

Marlin Lewis, principal at Havre's Sunnyside Intermediate School, may be returning home to Hamilton.

Lewis is one of three finalists to become principal of Hamilton Middle School, according to the Ravalli Republic newspaper.

Lewis is in his second year as Sunnyside principal. Before coming to Havre, he spent 16 years at Polson.

Other candidates are Jennifer Burdette, principal of Darby High School, and David Cluff, superintendent of Lone Rock School District.

The three candidates were in Hamilton last week being interviewed by school trustees and attending a public meet-and-greet.

Should Lewis, a Hamilton native, get the position, he will join Superintendent Tom Korst. Korst was deputy superintendent in Havre before becoming Hamilton superintendent last year.

There was no indication when a decision would be made.

Whoever is chosen will replace Dan Kimzey, who has been named principal of Hamilton High School.
