Sangray put on leave

The head of the Montana Highway Patrol confirmed Monday that its district that includes Havre will be, at least temporarily, under new leadership.

"Capt. Brad Sangray has been placed on nondisciplinary administrative leave, and in his absence Maj. J.V. Moody is in charge of the district," said Col. Kenton Hickethier, chief administrator of the Highway Patrol.

Hickethier said he could not comment on the reason Sangray, head of MPH's District 8, was put on leave. He said he also could not give any kind of a timeline as to how long the leave may last.

District 8 stretches from Glacier and Pondera counties through Teton, Liberty, Hill, Chouteau, Blaine, Phillips and Valley counties, with the district office in Havre.

The Havre Daily News could not find a telephone listing for Sangray by this morning.
