The chancellor of Montana State University-Western, Richard Storey, stands to accept applause after receiving the Administrator of the Year award before speaking at the Montana State University Board of Regents meeting.
The Montana University System Board of Regents will conclude its three-day meeting at Montana State University-Northern today.
Regents met for executive session to talk of personnel issues Wednesday, and Thursday they convened from 7 a.m. to just before 6 p.m. to listen to presentations and to take action on agenda items.
Included in the agenda items was a pay increase for Northern faculty, which the board approved along with increases for other schools' faculty.
"The primary economic component of this new labor agreement is a normal salary increase of 2.25 percent plus $250," says a memo from Deputy Commissioner Kevin McRae to the board of regents explaining the increase.
The pay increase will take effect Oct. 1. The faculty received a pay raise of an equal amount last October.
