Havre High School students of the month

Meagan Passon was chosen as one of Havre High School's October 2014 Student of the Month.

Passon is the daughter of Dave and Lisa Passon, and sister of

Aden, 15. She is 18 years old and a senior.

She participates in Business Professionals of America and works at Oasis Tanning Salon, Coffee Hound and Havre Middle School. Her hobbies include dirt-biking, shooting, and spending time with family and friends.

Passon was nominated by her math teacher, Heather Haney.

Haney said, "Meagan is a very conscientious student who is always willing to help others. I have had the pleasure of having Meagan both in class and as my student aide and her attitude and work ethic are far above many of her peers."

Haney added that Passon is overall a hardworking, kind, and intelligent young lady who is very deserving of the honor of Student of the Month.

Passon's goal is to major in agricultural business at Montana State University-Northern.

Sarah Manuel also was selected to be Havre High's October Student of the Month.

She is the daughter of Jody and Crystal Manuel and sister of Tristan, 19, Sawyer, 13, Taliya, 10, Teague, 7, and Shayna, 2. She is 17 years old and a senior.

Manuel participates in a cappella choir, Key Club, Pep Club, P.A.S.S, and Yearbook Club. She plays and coaches soccer, enjoys baking cheesecake, photography, listening to music and participating in the local Farmers Market.

Manuel was nominated by her applied office technology teacher, Anna Joy, who said that Manuel has demonstrated excellent work ethic.

"She is quiet but cheerful and eager to work. Sarah's attendance is excellent, and she is a positive contribution to the classroom," Joy said. "She has a strong understanding of our course concepts and catches on quickly to new concepts and exercises. Sarah is also very willing to help her classmates."

Manuel's goal is to attend college with a major in business/entrepreneurship. After college, Manuel said, she plans on becoming self-employed and traveling to as many foreign countries as her passport will allow.
