Obituary - Eugene Goligoski

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Eugene Goligoski, 77, of San Diego, who died on Oct. 27, 2014, surrounded by family.

Gene was born Oct. 19, 1937, in Havre, Montana, to Helen Goligoski. He attended St. Jude Thaddeus School and graduated from Havre Central High School. Upon graduation, he entered military service. He served in the United States Navy for 30 years. He was a naval photographer and recruiter, traveling the world and visiting many ports of call.

Upon retiring, Gene volunteered at the San. Deigo Mission. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his wife, Diane, and children, Kim, Karen, Tina, Dan, Scott and Michael and his 13 beautiful grandchildren, along with his faithful dog, Max.

He is survived locally by his only sister, Joann Goligoski Blanchard; his cousins, Pat Ihnot and Tim Herron; and numerous other cousins.

A private service will be held at Miramar National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the UCSD Moores Cancer Center in Eugene's name to advance research for a cure to the disease that ultimately took his life.

Gene will be deeply missed.
