Ann Bolta McLain was born in Alasko, Missouri, in 1913.

Ann homesteaded north of Havre with her parents in 1924.

The family moved into Havre and built a home at 826 2nd Ave. where Ann grew up the oldest of six siblings, Keva, John, Nicholas, Elena, Mary and George.

Ann attended St Jude's Catholic School, graduating in 1928. She graduated from Havre High School in 1932.

After graduation Ann was employed by Buttrey Deptarment Store in the women's clothing department until meeting and marring Woodrow "Mac" McLain.

Ann and Mac built their home at 820 2nd Ave..Their home was the first home in Montana built on a GI Loan. Ann resided there for 68 years. until moving to Northern Montana Care Center in July 2014 at 100 1/2 yrs. old.

Ann and Mac raised five children: Mary Ann, Frank, John, Greg and Bernadette, also 14 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Ann had great pride in her home, family gatherings, her flowers and gardening. Any dog living at home was given much love and treated as a family member. Watching the birds has always and continues to bring her daily joy.

Ann is a member of St Jude Parish and the oldest living member of the altar society.

Ann for many years assisted with at the voting polls at Devlin School.

Ann is the oldest living patient on file at Mayo Clinic in St. Paul, Minnesota, having her first appointment there in 1925 when she was 12 years old.
