Empty seats at the table

From Buckle Up Montana

The holidays are a time spent with family and loved ones, but this year many families will be sitting down to a holiday dinner with an empty place at the table.

In 2013, 188 people died due to motor vehicle crashes in Montana. Of those, 56 percent were not wearing seat belts.

Hill County has lost 26 people in the past 10 years due to motor vehicle crashes - 85 percent were not seat belted properly.

An Empty Dinner Party display, showing an empty table setting for someone who has died in an auto crash, is on display at Holiday Village Mall.

The holiday season is the time of year that we think about what we can do for our family and loved ones. The best gift we could give them is keeping them safe.
