Skylights ink Spokane Falls standout hitter

The 2015 recruiting class is growing for Montana State University-Northern volleyball head coach Bill Huebsch. Add he added his second transfer from Spokane Falls Community College.

Huebsch recently announced signing Spokane Falls’ Jacy Vining to an NAIA letter of intent. Vining comes to Northern with two years of eligibility remaining. She’s originally from Colville, Washington. Vining is a 5-7 outside hitter who also excels on defense.

Among Vining’s accomplishments at SFCC were establishing a new career dig record of 1,238 this past season (beating the school record by 300 digs) and earning the MVP Award at the Dig Pink Tournament. She was named the offensive player of the week for week seven in the Eastern Region and for the entire North West Athletic Conference. She garnered First-Team East Region honors and First- Team All-Tournament honors at the NWAC tournament this past year as well as being named an NJCAA Second-Team All-American and Academic-All Conference.

Vining, who joins SFCC teammate Emily Russell at Northern, graduated from Colville High School in 2013. She is the middle sibling of two brothers, Clayton and Colton, and the daughter of Dennis and Michawn Vining. She is attending MSU-Northern to pursue a degree in business and to continue playing the sport she loves.
