Nalivka's takes second in pizza poll

After 10,000 votes cast in three rounds of voting, Eugene’s Pizza of Glasgow has won the Montana Pizza Championship.

Montana Mint website ran the contest, asking people to vote for their favorite pizza in the Treasurer State.

Nalivka’s Original Pizza Kitchen in Havre finished second in the Final Four round of the event.

Eugene’s, a fixture in downtown Glasgow since 1962, garnered 48 percent of the vote. Nalivka’s received 34 percent. Howard’s of Great Falls and Me Too Pizza of Culbertson trailed with 11 and 7 percent, respectively.

Aaron Flint, statewide radio host, has been plugging Eugene’s on his program.

Upon hearing the news of Eugene’s victory, Flint said “I think it’s pretty clear the Hi-Line is the real winner here. Three of the top four came from Highway 2 destinations.”

“I’ll never forget growing up as a kid seeing Mr. Knodel throwing the pizza dough up to the ceiling. Eugene’s Pizza has the taste, the ambience and the community.”
