HYBA tournaments get underway this week

There is nothing quite like summer baseball and when it comes to the diamond, one of the greatest pastimes is little league baseball. In Havre, the little league action will get ramped up over the next few weeks with the tournaments in the Babe Ruth division, the Majors division and the Minors division.

The action got underway Thursday with the opening round of the Majors tournament, which will run through Saturday and possibly Sunday if needed. That tournament will be played at Lions Field and feature four teams. The teams that will compete for the title are Athletes Foot, Lions, Richman Insurance and FLC Construction.

The Athletes Foot team consists of Joey Bird, Eli Cloninger, Dylan George, Callan Gobin, Jacob Huston, Colby Lammers, Collin Miller, Taydem Morley, Alexander Ost, Clint Owens, Jeremiah Rowles, Orion Thiverge and Xavier Ulano.

The team representing FLC Construction features Dexter Beck, Joey Bender, Kellen Detrick, Wyatt Hanson, Conner Henderson, Caden Jakens, Dylan Kimberling, Carter Leeds, Trenton Malougney, Theron Peterson, Kendall Pleninger, Riley Pleninger and Hunter Velk.

Richman Insurance boasts Clay Adams, Jeremiah Benson, Juliun Benson, Richard Hopps, Josh Horn Jr., Michael King, Zach Kinyan, Whisper Little Owl, Andrew Rassmussen, Vincent Sandcrane, Amari Stanley and Mia Wing. And lastly, the Lions team has Geoffrey Anderson, Wyatt Antonich, Kaine Birdtail, Ethan Carlson, Caleb Chambliss, Carson Lunak, Tavish McLean, Derek Olson, Taylor Parsons, Marc Ramirez, Hunter Smith, Shawn Sullivan and Kris Tanner.

While the Majors league is for 11- to 12-year-olds, the Minors league is for 9- to 10-year-old kids and that tournament will start on June 18 and run through June 20. The Minors tournament will feature eight teams batting it out for the league championship.

There will be many contenders for the title including the Domino's team that consists of Paul Barrett, Thomas Boyd-Champagne, Braydon Cline, Spencer George, Lane Kinsella, Danny McKenzie, Isaac Pedraza, Ezekiel Reed, Tucker Schweigert and Caleb Tomac. Another club is the Havre Tire Factory, which has Ciaran Courtnage, Reid Kato, Zackree May, Landon Molitor, Taivon Rosman, Kelly Schafer, Wyatt Simpson, Caleb Spangler, Carter Spangler and Cason Womack.

Another team will be the club sponsored by Lions and consists of Evan Baker, Wyatt Burr, Ethan Elliot, Adam Habeger, Jayce Jensen, Conner McKay, Brody Nanini, Kolter Sands, Asher Springer and Sal Ulano.

Master Sports will also be sponsoring a team that will feature Ezekial Antonich, Soren Antonich, Colton Bradbury-Kuka, Logan Cloninger, Jacob Herring, Ryker O'Leary, Kale Reno, Terek Shipp, Kale Van Campen and Mason Wilting.

A team sponsored by Raymond James will also compete and that club will be made up of Kaden Burnell, Derrick Christensen, Michael Emge, Cullin Johnson, Dylan Kuhn, Trigg Mapes, Ricky Moorse, Brody Morse, Anthony Raass, Sosaia Raass and Sterling Shelton.

There will also be teams representing Richman Insurance, Subway and Chinook. Chinook did not have a roster available but the roster of Richman Insurance is as follows: Clay Adams, Shaide Bell, Juliun Benson, Harmony Bigby, Thunder Bigby, Kayden Castillo, Brenden Fetter, Nelle King, Siya King, Chloe Messerly and Gracie Young.

Finally, the Subway team includes Drake Berreth, Riley Burchard, Jordan Cook, Tre Fetter, Carson Harris, Braydon Knoles, Gavin Moffit, Bryson Robinson, Tristan Stygles, Randy Tommerup and Jason Wold.

The Babe Ruth league, which is the level right below American Legion baseball, will hold its tournament June 22-24 at Legion Field. It will also be made up of four teams with Wolfers, Optimist, Northern Montana Hospital and Wells Fargo acting as the sponsors.

The Wolfers team includes Evan Davison, Preston Glock, Jeramiah Hughs, Jacob Irvin, Casey Mariani, Gavin Mosbrucker, Dyllan Murray, Morgan Olson, Ethan Roberts, Layton Shennum, Bridger Staples and Will Thomas.

The Wells Fargo team has Kaiden Anez, James Christianson, Austin Delarosa, Chad Donaldson, Brendan Garden, Wyatt Johnson, Brady Ophus, Cameron Pleninger, Quinn Reno, Trent Shettel, Quinn Springer and Logan Twombly.

The team representing Northern Montana Hospital has a roster of Caleb Allstead, Noah Brown, Tommy Brown, Tucker Carlson, Matthew Dess, Nick Keller, Tyrel Kjersem, Kennedy McKay, Jacob Miller, Garrett Parson, Jacob The Boy and Ethan Werk. And last but certainly not least, the Optimist team features Tony Antley, Jacoby Fox, Taylor Gopher, Josiah Harrison, Dawson Kinsella, Hunter Lovenguth, Dylan Newburg, Tanner Parsons, Jeremy Pugh, Cody Rennick, Keldon Sullivan and Calvin White.
